Bazemore describes his work and practice: "I am a self-taught artist visual artist who has been making art in my community for over thirty years. I often work with paints, metal, text, and photographs and found objects, and organic materials to create installations sculptures paintings and mixed media artworks. I enjoy teaching young people art history, color and form at various art program throughout Philadelphia. I view myself as an artists’ artist-a visual storyteller. My work is rooted in the physical and emotional environment of my life, family and community."
Brian K Bazemore, aka BCASSO, is a self-taught, visual artist who has been making art in his community for over thirty years. He often works with paints, metal, text, photographs, found objects, and organic materials. His artistic oeuvre comprises installations, sculptures, paintings, mixed media, and conceptual artworks. BCASSO enjoys teaching young people art history, color, and form regularly in various community and other institutional programs throughout Philadelphia. He views himself as an artists’ artist and a visual storyteller, and is influenced by the physical and emotional environment of his life, family, and community.
